Investigate
the mystery of human anatomy and physiology in this first-of-its-kind
exhibit. Using the groundbreaking preservation process of Plastination,
BODY WORLDS illustrates the vulnerability and wonder of
the human body by showcasing nearly 200 real human specimens and
more than 20 whole-body plastinates.
This
fascinating exhibit allows educators and students to:
-
Experience anatomy system by system, which aids understanding
of the independent functions of each and how they fit within the
body.
-
Compare healthy and diseased organs - such as a healthy liver
to one showing hepatocirrhosis and non-smoker lungs to smoker's
lungs.
-
See whole-body specimens without skin revealing the intricacies
of bones muscles, tendons, nerves, blood vessels and organs. Detailed
written descriptions accompany all specimens for maximum educational
value. Please note that eyes and genitals remain on whole-body
specimens.
-
Appreciate these systems in life-like poses, which illustrates
how our bodies are structured and how they function during everyday
activities.
